gullmo
For my 20H tank that I am setting up, how much live rock is too much? I can get 45# for fairly cheap but must buy that amount to get the deal. It is Walt Smith rock from fiji but I fear that it may be way too much for my tank. I was planning on only using 30# so I would have room for corals, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks! Link to comment
lizbeth
I have about 26lbs of figi in my 20 high. Is there someone you could split the order with? Or set up a second tank! Link to comment
mangrovejack
Hey gullmo, whether 45#'s is too much depends on your system. If you plan to add/have a sump, then you can stick some of the LR in there. If you plan to have swimming fish, then you will probably have too much in your tank. If you just want corals then you may be ok? 2lbs/gal would not be too bad from a filtration point of view, but will look very crowded in there. Again, it will depend on the shape of the LR and your aquascaping skills, but a sump would solve any dilemas. Otherwise, just like lizbeth said, find someone in your area who may want to split the order with you and save $$$ HTH Dave- Link to comment
