Hello Nano Reefers

I wanted to give you an update, i started noticing my Zoas always being closed and they were shrinking and just not doing well, then i spotted a Nudibranch on the glass, and the more i would look the more i would see, everyday I was finding anywhere from 1 to 4 of them, they are VERY good at Camouflage they take on the color of the Zoas, so they make it difficult to find. I had read some reports of using Saliferts Flatworm Exit to get rid of them, but using stronger dosages. I read up as much as i could and decided to give it a shot after about 3 weeks of dealing with these buggers. I was going to try and take out each rock individually and dip them but i figured since i was finding these guys on the glass far away from my Zoas some times, i would probably leave some in the tank even if i dipped every rock. So i decided to go for it and i did a full tank treatment. I should have mentioned, my tank is 17 gallons, and has some Softies, LPS, and a few SPS, I also have a RBTA, and 3 fish, plus a full clean up crew including snails, emerald crabs, hermit crabs, and a Cleaner shrimp and also a pistol shrimp.

From what I have read you need to do about triple the dose of the Salifert compared to what you would dose for Flatworms. I added the dose and I saw ABSOLUTELY no changes to any other of my animals, i was almost skeptical the Salifert was even real, i thought the RBTA might shrink up a bit, or some of the soft corals, but nothing was affected BUT the nudibranchs ! I saw a few die off, but they can be SO tiny i am sure a few more died that i never even saw. The problem is the Salifert doesnt kill the eggs i was told, so after about 4 days, you need to retreat the tank for any hatched eggs, I did another dose the same as the first and again noticed no side effects. Its been about month, and i have NO Nudibranchs in my tank !! for the record, i do Dip all my corals as the come in, but i guess they slipped through somehow.

I would HIGHLY recommend you try this if you have any Nudibranchs, i have read they will also kill the Other forms of coral eating Nudibranchs also. Its always weird and scary trying something new and uncommon, not too many people seem to know of this, both LFS i asked had never even heard of this method. If you have any questions you can ask me here or PM if you prefer, but don't let those buggers kill your Zoa's any longer ! wipe them out !!!

I hope this somewhat helpful, im not good for much on here, but hopefully this will help someone !!
