Acielot
Looking good but a fuge or sump would help get that equipment out of the display unless of course you prefer it that way 1 Link to comment
flypenfly
I don't know, that franken monster looks kind of cool in a Mad Max kind of way. 1 Link to comment

Its gets pretty hot here in South Africa tank can get to 88farenheit by 10am so the fans are essential. Tank never gets above 78.8farenheit thanks to the reef angel Link to comment
Alkamist
ohh i didnt see you were from South Africa my bad lol Link to comment
Dnanoreefer
. Here is my 10 gallon sump/fuge I'm setting up for basically the same tank. 8 gallon display. The skimmer will be next to the filter sock in the first chamber. Return in second chamber pumping from third chamber which is fuge section. It's no where near done but I was just giving you a idea of a relatively cheap fuge idea. Link to comment

Might use that on my frag tank if I dont go with the ORCA Biocube route again Unfortunately my tank stands next the tv and next to the wall and beneath is where I keep my red wine. Well probably not keep red wine more like temporary housing Link to comment

ToolboySA
I love your shameful tank!!!!!! Did you consider a sump yet? I really wish I could. Would make the wife very happy if all the equipment was hidden and would make my life easier. Luckily the Biocubes and GFO are my saving grace here. Especially the biocubes taking care of my nitrates Were looking to buy a house at the moment. So Ill be upgrading. Already bought the new tank 6months ago. Was going to put it up then we decided we want to buy a house 1 Link to comment

I have one and I haven't fed it anything but grade-A LED light lol. Link to comment
ToolboySA
My tank is fed the following 1ml Reef Energy A (daily) 1ml Reef Energy B (daily) 1/2 block lobster eggs every 3rd day Ocean Nutrition Nano Coral Food every 2nd day Feed the snails and pom poms twice a week 1 block frozen mysis shrimp This would not be possible without the biocubes which keep my nitrates between 0 and 0.5ppm. Dion_Blaster
do those two fans really save the tank when it gets up to 88 degrees? I was thinking about getting a chiller but thats a much cheaper solution! very sweet tank btw Link to comment
yarrick
Very nice tank! One rapidled par38 is enough ? Two will be too much? Is it the dimmable version? Link to comment
ToolboySA
do those two fans really save the tank when it gets up to 88 degrees? I was thinking about getting a chiller but thats a much cheaper solution! Yes they work wonders my tank has never gone over 78.8. Even in the heat wave we had in Dec when I was away and the house was all locked up and was like an oven in my house. Only draw back is evaporation. You need to keep a handle on that. Cause with 8gal tank if I loose 1 gal to evap my salinity is greatly affected. I'm awaiting a custom bracket for my tank so I can add my ATO One rapidled par38 is enough ? Two will be too much? Is it the dimmable version? Exactly. I would like more but two would be to much. And the top of the tank is a bit crowded with the other equipmeent so I dont have the space It is dimmable with a triac (normal house light dimmer), but I just use it at balls to wall Link to comment
Dnanoreefer
Balls to the walls. Haha. The only way to run it. Link to comment
Butcherman
That is one Awesome NANO! Link to comment
MeepNand
Dude that is a sweet tank. Who cares about what's outside, it's the corals that matter! Although investing in a chiller could really help in the event of a heat wave. And if one par38 bulb works now, you don't need another. Link to comment
