jean9910
Hello to you all! I will be starting a 29 gallon biocube but the stock modle? like not the one with the big light. I need your help choosing things most importantly my skimmer! what I would like would be not to remove the false floor in the second chamber I would love your help so far what I got from my reaserch would be either the Sapphire or aquatic life mini skimmer115 price is not important on this step what I want is a skimmer that runs good and that would not require me to modify my second chamber :3! Also I have an other request that would be most helpful for me for which ever is better I would like a link to an online store which sell these and ship to Canada can't find any fish stores in Montreal who have small skimmers </3 Thank you! Syn
I don't have time to sift through these before heading to work, but here are a few canadian online stores http://www.petsandponds.com/en/aquarium-supplies/index.html http://www.reefsupplies.ca/online-store/home.php http://www.aquariumsupplies.ca/aquarium-supplies-c-1.html http://www.reefsolution.com/catalog/index.php?language=en http://www.jlaquatics.com/phpstore/store_pages/mainpage.php Hopefully you can find what you need Link to comment
Rollermonkey
Hydor SlimSkim does NOT fit in Chamber 1. Tunze skimmer only fits in chamber 2, so you need an ATO. I'm running an AC115 skimmer in my chamber 1, which is a very tight fit, but I get virtually zero benefit from it. (Clearskim mate only.) Right now, I don't even have it on because it sprays my mangroves with salt. Once my clown pair moves from QT to DT, I'll turn the skimmer back on and see if I get better results. In other words, the bioload in a BC29 often isn't sufficient to justify a protein skimmer. Link to comment

Mine is pretty heavily modified but all easy stuff, 1st chamber totally emptied it out and filled with well.seasoned bio balls, 2nd chamber totally emptied and filled with an inch or so, maybe two of miracle mud, cheato from there up, 3rd chamber, bigger pump, Rio 6£HF also have a bag of chemi pure hanging in there. I have bigger fans on the lights, because heat is the biggest enemy on these little systems, Tank has about 25 lbs of well seasoned life rock, many softies, a couple LPS, and 4 good size fish Never run a skimmer, water parameters are spot on Link to comment
