Doug59 Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I am a little confused between what functional difference a buckpack performs, and a driver like a meanwell or inventronics. Do they perform the same function? What are the pros and cons of one or the other if they perform the same function? Would the use of some optics in select locations be of any benefit in this particular setup? I see that most other conversions of this tank people use generally 1 NW with 1 RB with anywhere between 20 and 30 LED's. Seems that it may be more desirable to have 1 NW with 2 RB. Any thoughts as to a number of LED's and a ratio and whether other colours aside from the RB and NW are desirable?
Lingwendil Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 the main difference between a buck buck and another driver is that buck buck generally need to work with a separate power supply were as the more dedicated drivers actually have a power supply built in. If you look at the biocube 29 thread it would be a good starting point for you. my recommendation is to go with an inventronics driver if you want an easy to use solution, without getting too technical.
