apgfeb14
Alright guys so first ill show you what i have... after my 125 got cracked during construction i am left with my 55 gallon tall, and i had a pod population before in the 125, and two days prior to the break, i got a manadrin fish. - he is eating frozen but i prefer the real deal. I have over 150 - 200 pds of liverock, all but 2 pieces, from the 125 in the 55, PLENTY of hiding spots for pods.... but i want to establish somewhere for them to go. So this is my idea.. This is what i have to work with, along with some more liverock but this seems to be the one with the most nooks and crannys. What i want to do is break this up and throw it in here As you can see its a older skimmer, that works, partially. When i run it with the air-stone it just spits out microbubbles... but without the stone it just cycles water through it at a decent rate... it also has a working pump ( duh ) and a sponge at the end of it... its dirty old and never used. so with some TLC i can get it cleaned up and looking as purdy as your date on prom night Break up the live rock with a hammer and fill it up then kick on the skimmer WITHOUT the airstone, and let it run... i dont have a light yet but it should catch SOME light from the lights i have... LATER : ill get some cheato and hopefully mix it in there and my pods will be happier then you were AFTER prom Link to comment

apgfeb14
I don't think this is really going to be enough pods to support that mandarin. I can get a larger skimmer to try that is available.... but i have a mass amount of liverock in the tank with TONS of hiding spots for them to multiply, that coped with the fact that he can eat frozen with this livestock is mearly something to add... i can tripple to size of the skimmer if need be. Do you guys think i should do that instead of this ? Link to comment
