heifinator Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Using their sugar sand in my new system (sig). Love how it looks, best sand ever IMHO (appearance wise). However, after being in the system for 3+ weeks with very little flow I turned up the flow slightly and it moved all over the place, exposing the bottom of the tank. No matter how I align my power heads the sand blows around. I know its suppose to settle over time as bateria attach and it becomes alive. Any idea of a time frame on that or tips to help with this problem? My sps would love some more flow =/ Thanks!
reefer859 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I have the sand too. 80lbs of it. Sucks and I've had it for 5 months and #### still blows everywhere. I'm about to remove all of it
mpg732 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 The issue is that in all small tanks you will always get some type of reflection of water off the glass. Some goes up and some goes down and that's what blows it around. I would not have gone with that sand.
heifinator Posted December 6, 2012 Author Posted December 6, 2012 I used special grade on my last tank and hated how it looks. Guess I will take it out and go bare bottom.
