phiber_optikx Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Long story short, my rhomboid wrasse is coming next week and I have been unable to procure an acclimation box for him. why won't this work in a pinch? Link The only downside I see is that he will be difficult to feed but I assume feeding any acclimation box is a chore...?
revaltion131 Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Drill holes in it to keep flow going through and you should be good to go. Over the past several months, at least up until September, there were major decompression and adaption to captivity issues, especially in terminal males. IIRC, Kevin with PIA said it was due to new collectors that didn't know what they were doing yet. I do not know if that's changed yet. So, be prepared for swim bladder infections and ich. Definitely QT the fish if you weren't planning to.
wombat Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 QT your fish! Why stick a fish that expensive in a tiny box and expose the rest of your fish to the potential parasites it might have? If you can afford a Rhomboid wrasse you can afford to set up a 20g tank with some chunks of mature live rock, an airstone or two, and a heater. That's about all a QT set up requires, and your fish will be much happier.

phiber_optikx Posted December 2, 2012 Author Posted December 2, 2012 Thank you revelation. EE, the tank is so the other wrasses do not kill it.
