ricky2567
So i have a Nano 12g and i am having some cooling issues. I live down in Miami and the temp in my tank some times gets as hot as 85 during the day. I having been designing a rig for the nano cube hood where i can add 3 60mm fans. So my question is would the fans be more effective blowing outside air onto the water or blowing air from inside the tank out? Or perhaps a combination of both? Rick Link to comment

Rick when I got mine I made the stock fans blow air through the conopy by reversing them. That was able to drop my temps about 1-2 degrees. Then when I put together a small fan setup I had the fans drawing the air off the waters serface. that was able to drop the temps to 78.5 where I have my tank set at. Link to comment
AZDesertRat
For best cooling performance and fan life always draw in cooler, dryer outside air. Having fans blow out gums them up from the moist warm air and they don't last nearly as long.If you are going to use 3 fans make sure you have an equal sized exit opening for the warm air to escape. jestep
If you blow air from outside onto the water you take advantage of evaporative cooling, which can be very effective. The other direction would be much less efficient and possibly would have no effect at all. Link to comment
