Walker
I just saw a bizarre sight today - one of my red leg hermits climbed all the way up to the topmost branch of my millepora frag and is just... hanging out. I don't think he's eating anything on there as I don't see any claw movement. He's simply just resting there for a good 30+ minutes now. That point probably has the strongest flow in the tank, but I don't know what else would attract him to that area. Do I need to worry that he's gonna start to have a taste for millepora polyp, or just leave him be? Link to comment
lagunastudio
it's a safe place for him to molt and then stay until his new exoskeleton is strong enough to come down. mine do it all the time. Link to comment
Rollermonkey
Crabs can filter feed, too. maybe it found a tasty current? Link to comment
Walker
Ohhh... the molting thing makes sense. The other hermit molted last week so I'm assuming he's not far behind. I thought something molted as I'm seeing pieces of shell around the area. Link to comment
