watercrawl
So I came in to work this morning and ran my tests and I now have zero ammonia, zero nitrites, and basically zero nitrates. WTH Happened? Here is my test log: Day / Ammonia / Nitrites / Nitrates 1 0.5 ppm / 0 ppm / Not tested 2 3.0 ppm Not tested 3 Sat 4 Sun 5 2.0 ppm (Added) / 0.50 ppm / 20 ppm 6 4 ppm / 4 ppm / 40 ppm 7 3 ppm / 4 ppm / 20 ppm 8 3 ppm / 5 ppm / 30 ppm 9 1 ppm / 5 ppm / 40 ppm 10 No Test No Test No Test 11 No Test No Test No Test 12 0 ppm / 0 ppm / 0 to 5 ppm Day 9 was last Friday. The Ammonia was going down, so I added a few drops of ammonia but nothing was added over the weekend. Did I stall the cycle? If not, why is the nitrates so low? Link to comment
brandon429
What was the origin of the rock Was it already cycled from lfs or was it dry rock you cycled Link to comment
watercrawl
It was dry rock and live sand. Link to comment
eddiecorrea
Keep feeding the tank with fish food and let it turn to ammonia. It will help build up the bacteria. Link to comment

aquatect
I'm not sure I understand....your tank was cycling and the ammonia started coming down so...you added more? Why? Link to comment
watercrawl
I believe nearly every article I read said to keep dosing ammonia until the nitrites spiked and the ammonia went from (articles varied, but...) 4ppm to 0ppm in 24 hours. Link to comment
