thirdchild
I moved stuff into a new tank and has a soft cycle. Looks like the diatom bloom is dying down and this new green stuff is growing. It is green hair algae or bryopsis or something else? Kinda growing like a fluffier version of turf algae. What should I do? The dwarf ceriths and nerites seem to be ignoring it. Urchin? Turbo snail? It's a 40b. Link to comment

I was hoping for exotic kind of GHA since it's growing on dry rock... How did it get in?!? I'll try elevating magnesium. Link to comment

Do so with caution though as the article states .... How it got in I do not know, it depends on what you have in the tank, maybe a piece of rock, or with the live sand if you have any. It must have come in somehow ... at least a zygote or sporophytes of it ... Here is a link to a page with lots of links to info on Bryopsis http://tinyurl.com/8tjazyk Link to comment
