"Rescued" RBTA

Newlinta

Recommended Posts

So I rescued this RBTA from certain death at a LFS yesterday.

I offered the manager $15 to see if I can "save" it and he said ok.

This is just after I got it in my tank...it actually already looked better

than it did at the store...

This is the second one I've done this with. Got a GBTA a few months ago

Under the same circumstances. It looked like this when I got it...

It now looks like this...

Regular feedings every 2-3 days, good light and medium flow was the method.

Just wondering if any experienced BTA owners had any other advice...

I'll try and keep track of it's progress on this thread.

Wish me luck!

Looks like you did good on the first... How long did it take for the tentacle to grow out on the GBTA?

It took about 2-3 weeks for more to extend...then it puffed up more and More( at a pretty steady rate)

over the next 4-6 weeks. It was probably a total of about 2 months to get it to the point where

Every tip extended/bubbled up on a daily basis.

The first one hasn't moved more than an inch since I got it about 4 months ago.

The new RBTA has already circled the rock it came on in 24 hrs...It looks like he's actually

in the process of moving to a new rock now.

I hope he finds a comfortable spot soon.

He did eat a good size chunk of chopped clam today and more tips are already starting to

Bubble up...that's a good sign!

The rbta doesn't look too bad. They're incredibly resilient.

Do you have a clown to host? That's really the most interesting part of keeping a nem.

When the clown takes food from your hand and feeds the anemone, it's really a beautiful experience.
