SaltyMist
So, this is my first venture into soft corals (I think mushrooms are soft corals, arnt they?). Anyway I wanted something else, but my LFS owner said, NO, I dont have enough lighting for what I wanted, so he pointed me in the direction of some mushrooms on a rock. They looked good and he said they would be fine in my tank, so I made the purchase. After acclimating them to my tank for about an hour, I plunked the mushroom covered rock into my tank, now it's been maybe a half hour and it seems that one of the mushroom is on the move, and trying to transfer to a piece of liverock next to it's own rock. Am I imagining things, or can mushrooms move around when they feel like it? Thanks P.S. I dont know what type of mushrooms these are, but they are redish brown and sort of bumpy if that makes sence. cpreefguy
Yep, they can detach themselves untill they find a place where the current suits them. They like low flow areas, if you dont want them moving, try and move the rock to a place where the current isnt as strong. Link to comment
