mnjlp27
I have a 5 gallong minibow setup with out much for a filter setup as of now. I want to put a sump/fuge under the main tank. I plan on putting an overflow drilled into the top/back of the tank that will drain down to a 5 gallon aga tank. What will I need for a return pump.. Anyone know of water pumps/ph's that have an adjustable flow rate? Also, what size pipe/tubing should would work for the overflow and the return lines.. The water will have to be pumped uphill about 2 1/2 feet to the main tank..... Thanks in advance for any helpfull comments. Link to comment
Physh1
You could use a powerhead like a MaxiJet 1200 or something similar. That would offer good recirculation from a sump on a 5 gallon tank. A 900 would work too....all the Maxijets can be hooked to 1/2 or 5/8 hose. You could easily add a flow valve to it if it was too much. If you want a powerhead with adjustable flow rate try the small rios'....probably an 800. They have valves included in the box. You'll need 1/2 line for them I believe. Cameron Link to comment
mnjlp27
Thanks for the tip, didn't think about the flow valve, that would work good for the power head I have then. Link to comment
Physh1
Yeah, you should be able to find a variety of flow valves at any good LFS... Cameron Link to comment
