perverseosmosis
I'm having a tough time finding a skimmer for my 110g. The skimmer compartment in the sump below is pretty small (7.5" x 16"). My searching online has narrowed me down to: Reef Octopus 1000XP SSS Pro: It seems well reviewed and the bubble blaster pump doesn't seem to have (as many) problems It will leave some space in the skimmer compartment for other things Cons: It's just barely rated for my tank size Octopus Medium 6 Inch Recirculating Skimmer Pro: It's rated for a bigger tank It's a bit cheaper Cons: The pump sounds pretty bad It will take up the entire skimmer compartment Anyone have an opinion one way or the other, or want to suggest something different? E.intheC
What's your budget? I don't think the sro 1000 will be enough for your tank. Typically the 2000 is recommended for tanks 90 and larger. Link to comment

solefald
Can you use an external skimmer? There are a ton out there. Aqua C, for example. http://www.proteinskimmer.com/Product%20Pa...EV%20Series.htm you can pickup a used one for about $100-120. Link to comment
acropora1981
7.5 x 16 isn't so bad - remember that the footprint of the skimmer can be rotated to fit in the longest axis of the sump. What about some of the Bubble Magus NAC cones? One of either the NAC 7 or NAC 8 should fit just fine. Link to comment
