Skywarp Posted April 10, 2012 Share Posted April 10, 2012 I've just discovered a small pink and white snail. The pink is not corralling algae. The markings are white bands and pink bands on the shell, which is spiralling out to the left. Can't get a good photo. Does anyone know if it's a coral predator? I think it could be, as bright coloured Gastropods normally are. But I would love to leave him in as he's beautiful. Any ideas? Link to comment
patback Posted April 10, 2012 Share Posted April 10, 2012 Look up pictures of whelks. I wish I dd this with mine, but throw it in a tank with a hermit and let it get the shell. A hermit is more reef safe than a whelk. Link to comment

sublunary Posted April 10, 2012 Share Posted April 10, 2012 I'm not sure what you mean by "sprialing out to the left". Is the shell elongated like a whelk? If not, I'd guess collonista. They are small and usually white and red or pink stripes. Link to comment
