Boomerblaster
Hey everyone! Wheww... finally feeling a little better now. I was taking a stroll around the house, and i decided to check on the reef to see what was goin on, AND I SAW IT! I saw about a half inch little GORILLA crab going at my brand new GSP rock! He was pinchin away! But i think i caught him right on the beginning of his venture. I flipped out... i had seen the little bugger every so often. Not really doing too much, and every time i tried to catch him he only got away from me! He was the perfect size to do damage and not get caugt. So i decided to take action... First a tried to grab him, but that definately didn't work, he was way too quick. But i say him right on the corner of the rock, and decided to grab the rock right outta the tank. NOW, luckily i had some old water from the tank that i never felt like luggin to the toilet, that i siphoned out for a water change right next to the tank! (only a few days old). I know its not the best water, but it was water! So i dumped the GSP covered rock in the water and gave it a good shake... and there he was at the bottom of the Home Depot bucket! Buahahah! I felt so accomplished! Just thought id share my triumph... But, i think my GSP is a little knicked up. Will it be unhappy after going through this? Will it possibly die? Thanks everyone! djconn
Nice catch! My GSP is probably the most hardy thing I've got in my tank. I frag it and cut it all the time. No probs. It will be fine. Link to comment
NanoAmyDee
Yeah your gsp will be fine. Don't worry about them at all. The weed of the reef...they will grow back happy in no time. Did you take a baseball bat to the crab? Or did you make it slow and painful? Link to comment
Hwarang
*rubs hands gleefully* I can't wait to get my mantis shrimp. He's going to be the executor of all things labeled vermin. Hehe. When I had a lot of FW tanks I kept one with an electric blue lobster (well, it's a crayfish actually) that I named Pincherooteus Maximus II: Cyberpinchy ... man I loved watching him hunt down rogues! Boomerblaster
haha... well that's great news! thanks everyone. I was on edge with that thing in there. It is funny what reefing can do to your life. We just had a test that had to do with cyano, and archaebacteria... pretty interesting stuff! And, in tons of our evolution videos in bio i always see these awesome sea slugs! Reefing can really change lives... for good and for the worse. lol. Thanks again! Link to comment
