Tiny Giant Frags! (lots and lots of them)

Recommended Posts

I have a bunch of frags. I'll try and snap some pictures tomorrow. The list is what i currently have on plugs. I might take some time this week to do some more fragging.

all of the funds will be going to fixing our truck.. currently our only vehicle which is in the shop waiting for a front differential. its not going to be cheap.. so anything i can sell will help soften the blow :P

$10ea Free shipping if you spend $150 (usps express, or ups ground depending on location)

Must spend at least $80 on frags to make it worth it for me to spend the money on the heatpacks and box/cooler.. etc

If you purchase 10 or more frags the price drops to $8ea!

name/scientific name/ QTY

The ones with zeros I might have frags of soon.

How did the swap go?

went well.. couple lessons learned..

-Dont be in the first room.. everyone said they would be back after they checked everything else out. My prices were the cheapest in the whole place.. but most people didnt make it back around.

-Bring two tanks and get there earlier so the zoas open up completely.

- try to get a spot in the room they do the raffle in at the end of the night. That way i can be in the same room EVERYONE is in at the end of the day to grab some more last minute sales :)

I sold a good amount but not nearly as many as i had hoped.

I had a lot of fun though and met a ton of nice people. Also grabbed two new sponsors for our club too.. so it was well worth the trip. I will definitely be doing it next year too :)

I'd recommend packing frags in more water too.. :) I think also try and get a bit larger frags. The pics are a little deceiving because they look like standard frag plugs, but they're the mini ones. :) I'm personally ok with it, I like small stuff, and the frag I got from you looks amazingly healthy, but that may have turned some off.

when i ship frags I poke holes in the condiment cups and submerge all of the cups in a large tank water filled vacuum sealed bag. Corals usually ship with about 1/3+ gallon of tank water. This way the frags cant touch each other but have the benefit of shipping in a larger volume of water. The last 4 people i shipped to reported the water temp received in the cooler was the same temp i shipped with. (75ish)

When purchasing them in person I usually just sell them in the cups for easy travel :)

The plugs are from ocean wonders. I think they are 3/4" plugs? havent really measured them.

I thought the classified rules stated that you cannot sell large quantities of frags, and you're not supposed to sell frags for profit...

Personally, I don't care, and I'd rather buy my frags off a fellow reefer...But Lawnman called the mods on another FS thread last night, yet is friendly with your thread, and you have more than DOUBLE the amount of coral for sale as there was on the other FS thread.

Lawnman, if you're gonna be a snitch, you should rat out everybody...

i'm not selling them in frag packs.

i'm just offerring to cover shipping if you buy a bunch.

there are rules about selling frag packs.. meaning one price for a ton of corals.

everyone selling frags is profiting from them. its impossible to not profit from them. These all came from my display tank over the last couple weeks. I'm not a store or doing this as a commercial venture.

i just happen to have a ton of frags at the moment

Hey, like I said, I don't care. I read your threads, and if I was at the frag swap I woulda picked up a ton of pieces from you. Your prices were/are awesome! I don't have a problem either way.

Sorry for causing a ruckus.

Get your facts straight before you start assuming.I did not report to a moderator.I drew attention to his thread. Tenor post zoos for sale every single week for the last year.Go check his profile and click topics you will see.At least Tiny Giant contributes to this site by helping other reefers with questions.Tenor sits in the livestock classifieds and answers his for sale thread that is it. If he wants to move tons of plays and zoas every week I said he should pay up and be a sponsor. This site is ran by the money sponsors pay.You think it is right for him to sell corals every week for free when these sponsors are paying a monthly fee? MetaTank you should do some research before sending me PM's and assuming stuff.

First of all, I don't care. Secondly, a rule is a rule....83 pieces of coral for sale is a lot...Buying colonies and fragging them out into smaller pieces for profit is also against the rules, whether or not they were left over from a frag swap. I wish these rules were'nt even in place, because I already stated I'd rather buy my frags off a fellow reefer than someone doing it commercially...But to say Tenor does it comercially is ridiculous...I go to his APARTMENT to pick them up. Like Tiny said, his frags came out of his tanks, so did Tenors.

I'm very sorry for this happening on your thread, Tiny...Consider this a "no publicity is bad publicity" Bump! :)

The difference is here:

'At least Tiny Giant contributes to this site by helping other reefers with questions.Tenor sits in the livestock classifieds and answers his for sale thread that is it.'

Tiny Giant acts as a member of the community. Tenor acts as a vendor, even if he is not.

MetaTank, this is completely inappropriate, I suggest you drop the subject.

Consider it dropped, said what I wanted to say. Have a nice day, everyone :)

there is a local member on our club forum that has some ponape. i might be able to score a frag. Our next local club meeting will be closer to his side of our area so he might actually make this one.. if so i'll grab one :) he's a little further from me than i like to travel so i havent had the chance to grab any from him yet.

Do you happen to have a closeup of the branching cyphastrea? I've been looking for some for a while now. Great stuff by the way, congrats on stepping up to the next level and doing the show, it is a lot harder than most would think. I'll PM you around next payday and see what you got.
