Torch + Clown OK?

I bought a small Torch frag out of impulse. The LFS said it was a pretty safe coral for a Nano cube... but some searching says they are agressive and require medium light :|

Anyhow, I plan on adding a Percula Clown, and many Zo's... will this combination be OK?

Thanks,

Matt

i have a euphyllia (your torch belongs to this) and I have 3 percs, each of different size, and they are fine together. As far as other corals are concerned, your "torch" may have sweepers that can sting and kill other corals within reach. Just be careful of placement.

i have a large torch with about seven heads on it. when it's fully expanded, this thing is huge. it doesn't really form "sweepers" like i've seen on a hammer or frogspawn. but occasionally, i'll see a few tentacles that are like one inch longer than the rest, and these things have been coming in contact with a colony of zoos that are about four inches away, causing them(zoos) to close up. i don't have much room to move my torch, so i'll probably just frag a few heads off when i get a hold of a dremel, so that i can give it enough room to fully expand without causing harm to my zoos. so in your situation, i'd give it about 5-6 inches on all sides just to be safe. even though you have a small frag, it still has the possibility to blow up much larger than you think. wait until you've seen it fully expanded, then you should know more or less where to place any other corals.

Thanks for the replies!

I got a really small torch, but it seems to get bigger all the time.

Everyone is doing fine right now, but what do I do when he gets too big? Give him away? :(

A few days ago I got a relatively small torch (4 heads); on day 2, my clowns have tried to host it!!! They hang around it and the bubble constantly. I wish I could get them a BTA, but my tank is not mature enough :-(

Be carefull not to put any corals around it that might fall from your rock work. I had 3 ricordia's fall off a ledge unto the torch. A few hours later the ricorida's looked liked they were melting. I moved it away & they were stuck together. The ricordia's recovered within a week.

My darn turbo snail nocked it over.
