coachfraley Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Hey, I am going to be setting up a 40g standard in the next month or so. I am planning on stocking with a variety of hairy mushrooms, a frogspawn, and maybe a few zoa varieties. Right now I have a 2x39watt "Fishneedit" T5 fixture that I was using on the tank for freshwater plants, does that sound like enough lighting for the coral I have planned? Obviously I will replace the FW bulbs with some ATI's. Thanks in advance for any replies.
seabass Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I'd feel more comfortable recommending a 4 bulb T5 fixture. However, it might be enough if you target feed the LPS.
coachfraley Posted February 10, 2012 Author Posted February 10, 2012 Thanks for the reply seabass! Has anybody tried a hammer/torch/frogspawn under similar lighting?
C.I._Reefer Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Thats not much light for a 40g, but if u put the frogspawn right under the bulbs or high up on the rock work, you would probably be fine
asting Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 IF you've got the budget for it... http://www.aquatraders.com/36-inch-4x39W-T...ure-p/52304.htm
