Those look great. Currently my only SPS is a frag of Green Slimer that I'm growing for a local competition that benefits the Tanks For Teachers program. It's actually growing, too!

I'm starting to think about taking a stab at some more easy to grow SPS.

Just to make sure, the above pictures are indeed superman montipora correct ?

Just want to be sure that I am labeling this all correctly :).

Well, I decided to try out my new Mg test kit this morning before work.

Read the instructions, followed them carefully and.......the solution never turned blue (or gray)!!!

No idea what that means.

I decided not to do another test as to waste it and wait and try again later.

Any thoughts ?

What's the top end of the scale on your test kit?

Is that one of the kits with the little spoon of powder you have to put in?

What brand of Mg test kit is it?

Man, that superman monti is so very nice. Great shape and color. Gonna have to get me one!

Sorry, should have stated that.

The test kit is a brand new salifert magnesium test kit.

Yes, it has the powder and is the newer version with the little red spoon.

And, thanks! The superman monti is my new fav I think.

I got a great deal on it because it was stung by another coral on the backside of it. Luckily though it has almost fully healed!

Same kit that I have. I've had issues with getting good test results.

Bah...That doesn't make me happy. The only other one was that Red Sea kit and I've heard nothing but bad reviews on it.

I guess I'll try again tonight. Doing a water change as it is.

I'm not saying that it doesn't work. I have gotten plausible readings from the kit, but a couple times it's come out weird. Could have been a mistake in counting drops or something.

Did a 15g water change tonight, trimmed chaeto, removed chemi-pure elite and placed all of the new acro and chalice frags.

Needless to say the tank is quite pissed off at me right now, but here's hoping.

I'll check Mg in the morning again.

Would she drink the beer? My old cat Tiki would get into my beer any time I'd leave it on the coffee table. I'd come into the room and he'd have his tongue half way down the neck of the bottle--icky. He preferred MacTarnhans and Fat Tire.

Anything that's red and blue gets labeled Superman.

I'm just about to give SPS a try in my 10 gallon. So far, my little frag of green slimer is doing great. I'd like to get some more blue corals into my tank.

that superman is awesome. i almost bought a piece today :P i got new stuff from salties btw

Thanks! You should have gotten a piece while you were there :). Although what you did pickup is very nice!

On a separate note, I did another Mg test today and it worked! Water turned blue and there was .02 left in the syringe. Looks like my Mg is about 1500ppm? Isn't that the most it is meant to be?
