Nanodan
Howdy all, Back from a hectic heating season.Hello to any and all that may remeber me and to the ones whom dont or I dont know hello. I no longer have the 2.5, 10g,or 11g. It was getting to be to much and I had struck up a deal for the largest "nano" I could get, and had one footprint in mind 38g. It looks friggen huge from the front because its so high. Yet still its small enough not to overpower the room or the wallet. I have a 4x96w hood that is a CSL with duel 2x96w Electronic ballasts. They only sold a 48" model with the 384 watts of power, and thats what was on the shelf at my friends shop on consignment for somebody whom had it on a 120 LOL. So I hacked it down to 36 " and ABS fused the original endcap back on and sanded it smooth. It pumps out light and my coral is happy!! I added a MTC Hob skimmer with a luft 7p.s.i air pump and a minijet400. This is a handmade realdeal countercourent woodstone skimmer the junk it produces on a daily basis is incredible. I also use an Emporer 280 for more water movement and surface agitation modified to shoot water into the water column. Powersweep and Hagen main powerheads for water circulation, and also a Rio 50 mounted on bottom left corner to sweep behind rock structure and keep things neat. Approxmiatly 70 LBS of Marshall Island LR with about 6 species of coraline. My coral has all been grown from a frag ,most of which were "thumbnail" frags that were given up on and left for dead at the LFS, such as my prize "Sunflower" Zoanthids. I would never have gotten this far without the help and insight offered to me on these pages, and I thank you all. I am going to take some pics and post soon thanks.... PS. Am I still a "Nano" reefer or have I sold out to the MAN?????? The big dogs say I have a nano, anything less than 65 is not even a suitable fuge in the reefing world....LOL =D Immmm OUT!
