SouthFlorida_Tron
you can see the basket is half of chamber 2, and then the chaeto will free flow in the empty space next to it, then 2 baffles, then return.... will the chaeto submerge? or float? THANKS YALL! IM SO EXCITED! CANT WAIT!!! any thoughts on my quote from above?! any thoughts on the rio 1400 return? not familiar with it... Link to comment
JoelRHale
My chaeto floated but I always had a problem with other bad stuff growing on it so I'm not sure if that affected it. I hated my chaeto which is why I ditched it haha. Really, really nice tank, tron. This is going to look so good. Link to comment
SouthFlorida_Tron
i like rios Cool. Apparently Chris @ Pico isn't doing anymore 3/8" customs anymore, too big n heavy I guess lol... He said he usually goes hydro pumps but this tank required more umph from the rio My chaeto floated but I always had a problem with other bad stuff growing on it so I'm not sure if that affected it. JoelRHale
I would wait until other members (like kgoldy) who have a butt ton of chaeto chime in before you commit to modifying this beauty. I've seen it sink in my display and I have a feeling whatever was in mine, I think it was bryopsis, made it more buoyant. It never broke the water surface though. Did you use chaeto in your previous tank? Link to comment

I have chaeto in a media basket currently so it's always submerged, if I remember, I bring extra to my LFS when I trim, and it sits in a sump, and it sits down where I put it. Link to comment
JoelRHale
Yeah, see, I'm pretty sure I just had crappy chaeto. Link to comment

SouthFlorida_Tron
So my next dilemma..... Do I set up the mp10 to run on the same side as the return to create a one sided push? Or setup similar to my BioCube, on opposite side causing turbulence....? Link to comment
