rbaby
I've had tons of acans before, but I just picked up my first one for the new tank and this one has its feeders out ALL THE TIME. WTF? Is this some new attitude that acans nowadays have? I did feed the tank yesterday with Oyster Feast, it could still be smelling particles of that... Other than that, it's reactive when hermits walk near it or touch it...and I don't mean just 'feeders out'...I mean: Link to comment

blasterman
Oyster feast and meaty 'micro' foods will cause Acans to beg constantly. It's a sign they're healthy because a begging Acan is a healthy acan. The problem is that Oyster feast isn't dense enough to satisify an Acan. Use mysis, regular brine shrimp (my favorite), or beef heart. Use drinking straws taped end to end to drop food on them. Link to comment
Cintax
Use drinking straws taped end to end to drop food on them. +1 I use this method as well, except I use the stiff airline tubing you can get at your LFS. I also have a bit of the soft airline attached to the end to (hopefully) prevent tissue damage in case I touch anything. Sometimes I attach a syringe to the tube as well. The tube is large enough in diameter that I can drop 1mm pellets down it. I feed both my Favia and Acans this way. Link to comment
