pschom
Im starting a SMALL pico and need fish advice. I built a 1 gallon rear chamber in a 3 gallon picotope so the display area is...u guessed it...2 gallons. if no fish, that's ok. really just want corals, but if I could get 1 SMALL fish like a barnacle Blenny or something that would be cool. thoughts?? sublunary
Look into tiny gobies - green banded gobies, clown gobies, Trimma sp., Eviota sp. One of those might be fine - small bioload, and they mostly perch so don't use too much swimming room. Link to comment
pschom
yeah that's kind of the conclusion. is there a coral or something that they are not compatible with? what about a seahorse? Link to comment
GioReef
the small gobies mentioned are good choices except for the clown gobies, imo. They either starve to death or will eat your sps polyps... I don't know what you'll be keeping in this pico, so thats just a thought to keep in mind. Also, if you go the seahorse route, you really need to base your tank around them Link to comment
HVani
My LFS got in some red headed gobys and they are were pretty neat. They are tiny and were right out in the open, seem to have a nice personality as well. Dwarf seahorses would be good for that tank size but they have some special needs, you might wnat to read up on them first. Link to comment
RayWhisperer
Umm, most of those tiny gobies, like Trimma sp. They pretty much focus on live food only. Maintaining a pod population in that size tank would be impossible. I have a Gressingeri (Flaming prawn) like Sublunary's avatar, in a 7.5 gallon. About 5 gallon display. Pods are now non existent. Funny, I got a black sail fin blenny cause the lfs said it would eat the pods. All he wants to do is hang out on the Yuma and stare at me all day, and he only eats algae and food in the water column. 'I luv yu tho Larry! You da man!' What about this blenny? Would that work? http://www.bluezooaquatics.com/productDeta...=368&cid=12 Link to comment
