The Unofficial Walmart Pico Contest has begun. I had to carefully think out my plan for this 2 gallon Tom Deco Kit. Of course that is a polar opposite to the impulse with which I went online and bought the thing. As PBJelly says, now I'm a n00b with TWO tanks. Sheesh. I finally put in some effort on this today and did a LOT of work and set it up. I'm travelling and did not want to miss the contest entry date. I'm done for now but wanted to share some pictures. I think the 'scape could grow on me. Link to comment

metrokat
The Toms Deco Kit # 2 comes with a "bio-insert" for the filter. Which I wasn't sure of, did not know what it could do. Voila. Algae scrubber. Link to comment
metrokat
I retired this little pico today. After running it pretty much on autopilot for 9 months, I really wanted to consolidate my tanks so I moved all the livestock over to the fuge in my Red Sea Max that I installed today. The size of the tank was really a good one and challenged me to keep it alive. I was pretty lax with water changes, never tested, never dosed and nothing ever died or smelled in here. The stock lighting is grossly inadequate for even low light corals like mushrooms and palys. But my macros did thrive in here. A special thank you to Brandon429 who was meticulous about the data and advice he sent my way. He is always ready to answer a question or help out. Thank you Brandon. Catch me on my RSM thread, link is in my signature. Link to comment
