mears19
Hello, I just purchased the 65G skimmer from Coralife and it is very noisy. (I am currently building up the ecosystem in my new 44G tank) I have done some research on this device but a lot of forums have very different opinions about this product so I wanted to ask around here to see what people have done to make this quieter. I do not have a sump I have it setup with the hang-on mount. I have cut the output tube so its 1 inch from white foam and I have made sure the top of the diffuser box is slightly out of the water.... But between the the noise of the water bubbling at the diffuser box and the suction noisy I am not very happy. I notice if I put my finger over the other air hole on the silencer it goes much quieter. Do you see any issues with permanently covering this hole? Thanks, all tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated. I need to decide if I am returning this or not. (purchased on sale for$110) Link to comment

(purchased on sale for$110) i have owned one in the past and it worked OK but no more then that. every week or so it decided to go ape #### crazy and flood my floor. it has since been replaced by an AquaC Remora Nano which is MUCH quieter with a paper towel mod and i like it better. IMO works better as long as your water level is maintained high where ever its hung hope this helps Link to comment
