MTWiley
Just started getting long brown strings multiplying all over the place. From what I've been reading I think they're Dinoflagelites and I'd post a picture but unfortunately my camera phone is way too slow to take a decent picture when anything in the tank is moving. I just put a chiller on the tank about 2 weeks ago and dropped the temps from 80-81.5 to now it stays in the 76-78 range, but we got a bloom of what look like long brown strings, water params are good and I've done 3 10 gallon water changes over the last week since my girlfriend noticed some cyano looking stuff on one of our snails which is where it started last time. We dosed ChemiClean and waited 2 days did a 10 gallon change, then dosed again since it was still all over the rocks, I also picked up a Lawnmower blenny who has been hard at work cleaning up my rocks that were covered in brown hair that was about 1/8" - 1/4" long. Then realized I'm an idiot and forgot to pull my chemipure and purigen before I dosed the tank with chemiclean, did the 10 gallon water change. Then dosed the tank a 3rd time to try to get rid of the last of the cyano which seems to have been successful but I'm still getting theses crazy long brown strands that are growing everywhere. One of which got stuck on a powerhead and was reaching half way across the tank. Is there anything I can do to get rid of them? Link to comment
nor_cal_nano
Definitely sounds like dinos. Sorry to hear. I broke down my biocube after failed attempts to get rid of them. Good luck Link to comment
brandon429
we need a pic anyway, whatever you can post. Peroxide will kill them if used correctly, lets see the best pic you can post to get an idea of what is in the tank. Link to comment

MTWiley
I'll post something either today when I get home from work or tomorrow. Got home after the lights turned off, I'm going to be working on repairing a fence and getting a Husky tomorrow so it may be a day or two before I can post pics. Link to comment
