Siejuban
Since I am keeping an 5 gal Minibow, I have been searching for mag-float to help the cleaning, can't find in LFS or some Site, don't knwo why they don't carry that size. Finally, I find a Mini Mag-Float from ThatFishPlace, cleaning have been easier now, and also get a 10" clip to help clean up too. Link to comment
bones_bones
Hey, I've got the same tank and always wished for a smaller mag-float. How big is the new one? Link to comment
diddleyd
i got one of the mini mags from big al's. it is kind of a lightweight magnet. i don't think it will get anything stubborn off. Link to comment
diddleyd
oh and to answer your question, it's about the size of a domino, but thicker obviously. Link to comment
Siejuban
Even with this small size, it can still get those stubborn off the wall. Link to comment
diddleyd
i have only had mine a week, but i doubt very seriously it would remove coralline. the magnet is just not that strong. it doesn't "snap" together like the bigger mags. it's also got a less abrasive scrubbing side since it's meant for glass and acrylic. JMO. Link to comment
sead21c
is the mini just for glass because i havent found a small one for acrylic.... Link to comment
Whitten
I have one as well, and I bought it from Al's. I have had it long enough to know that coraline will not come off without a good bit of scrubing. I have also figured out that you should never clean near the bottom so as to avoid getting any substrate stuck in it that could potentialy scratch the surface of your acrylic tank. Other than that it works great on my 2.5 minibow. And it says on the box that it is both glass and acrlyic safe. Link to comment
Siejuban
That Mini is good for regular cleaning for those algae, I also has a Pro Scraper from Kent to help clean the coraline, using both become the perfect combination force to help cleaning the wall. Yeap, any Mag-Float better not trying to clean the bottom, I use the Pro Scraper to clean bottom. This Pro Scraper is pretty good, love it. Link to comment
