"Bristle" that eats snails?

I bought 4 ceriths tonight, all of them were doing great. Walked by the tank and saw a big blob of slime (ie snail defensive mechanism?) and saw a "bristle" looking worm with a mouth I don't typically see on my typical bristles...very peachy pale, little black dot eyes and fat.

Tried to get it out--but all I got was slime goo and is 1 snail less...pretty sure that none of the 4 snails were dead when I put them in there so I really don't think it was a bristle eating dead tissue...

Anyone experience this or have insight?

I found in WetWebMedia:

"Dead ones, yes. Live ones, no. There is a type of worm that is bright red, long and thin that prey on snails by smothering them in mucous before eating them."

Does anyone know what these worms are called?

[insert expletive that starts with an F ... with a trailing sound]

I took out the entire right side of my rocks...going to boil it tomorrow. It's in a vat of freshwater right now but I don't see it coming out--what are the chances that it bounced to the other island of rocks? I read that they stay pretty stationary in their chosen home.
