larsb
OK, I'm a real newbie when it comes saltwater-aguariums but have a background in aquariums with Malawi-ciklids and rainforest-aquariums in my youth. Now I've decided to go nano-reef and will try to get my 11-year old son involved. Plan to start next week-end. Aquarium is up R/O filter, refractometer and more is on its way. So I have a few questions: - What size powerhead should I go for (cocoon-7 is about 11 gallons)? Would you recommend Koralia or Tunze? - The tank comes with a 26W Solar Duo Boy lighting. Is that enough or would you add more watts? The bulb says the light is red-white 6500 Kelvin- good/bad? - Would a 50W heater be the right size? - Would you go with a sump? How big would you make it? What kind of circulation would you have through the sump? Of-course I have hundreds of questions but I'm learning more and more everyday. Have decided to make nano-reef.com my main source of information - If you don't throw me out that is. Any other tips much appreciated, thanks, /Lars Link to comment
