iball1804
don't believe everything you read on here. I have a 2.5 gallon sitting empty which would look sweet as a little frag tank with this light. Would the light promote growth? Yes ma'am. Quote Link to comment
Rayscopes
I'm seriously interested in a quality tank. The aqua illumination light is pretty expensive but a possibility. There are certain specifications which I must have though. They include a cover on the top of the tank with only a 1" hole on top for feeding. I'd also prefer the light to sit on the top of the tank. I prefer a cube shape- equal length, width, and height, not including the filter chamber. Quote Link to comment

I prefer a cube shape- equal length, width, and height, not including the filter chamber. With making the top only 1 inch for feeding is a concern unless it's built in with a removable top, because how will you place your rocks and corals through a 1inch hole? I like tanks that are long enough to accomodate a variety of light fixtures that can sit on the tank and therefore you have to be careful with length but can't go too long or else you are no longer a pico. The nano LED will be the best bet for this AIO for the fact, no heat, ability to grow all types of corals and great quality, I use the SOL on our display tank and absolutely love it. My AIO will not be for everyone, it will stand out as a tank that has the power to punch and demand respect with such a small size. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks, MG Edited November 17, 2011 by mikeguerrero Quote Link to comment
jgilvey
I like that concept, I could sacrifice some height for more in width or length, what would recommend? For my own preferences (granted I'm not in the market for an AIO so take it for what it is) I'd reverse the current display H and W dimensions and go with 10" W and 8" H. PinkDamsel
I do like the nepthea, very bright yellow but hard to find. Look at these! Yellow Zoas? Don't forget the common yellow coral: http://animal-world.com/Aquarium-Coral-Reefs/Yellow-Polyps Sorry for the hijack, Mike. Quote Link to comment
MeepNand
How about 14 x 10 x 8? I hate how tanks are so narrow... Edited November 18, 2011 by asid61 Quote Link to comment

Mike, The entire top or least most of it does need to be removable to add rock and coral and for cleaning, of course. However, after it is setup, I prefer a closed top with the 1 inch opening for dropping in food daily. The open top lends itself to evaporation and animals jumping out and a closed top is inconvenient for feeding. Quote Link to comment

I love the ADA 45-F and 60-F (big low/wide fan) but the 45-F is a little low for me and the 60-F was too wide for the location I've got for it. This will be perfect. Gotta love those curved sides, too. Micro-Reefs LLC for the win! Edited November 19, 2011 by jgilvey Quote Link to comment

NURSE33.4
How bad is the evaporation on that tank? How often do you top off? Quote Link to comment
Micro-Reefs Aquariums
How bad is the evaporation on that tank? How often do you top off? Since they all have cover tops, evaporation is very minimal, I pour only a quarter of a water bottle if that, once per week... I treat it like a little house plant.... Without the top, it's pretty quick.... Quote Link to comment
