You will probably need to order a third light to avoid spotlighting. Unless, that's what you are going for.

This is in my live rock what is it? i think its coral but no idea what

Looks like an aiptasia, also called glass anemone, kill it quick before it spreads, they are the worst pest in tanks... You can use AiptasiaX it works great...

Looks like aiptasia to me.

Posted

damn was hoping it was a good thing

what r some ways to kill it

Posted

Inject it with vinegar, lemon juice, boiling water, or buy a commercial aiptasia killer like aiptasia-x or joes juice.

Whatever you do, do it fast, it spreads fast and is a pain.

I posted AiptasiaX already, or do a search on aiptasia to learn more about it and how to get rid of it, you'll get about 1,437,296 results...

I did i could see it in its little crater so injected the spot with a lot of vinegar and rinsed it all off with some tank water

hopefully that did the job i couldnt see any of it left where i injected it

Posted

for best results go to a pharmacy and get a syringe with needle and actually inject the stuff INTO the anemone

I haven't seen any likes of him in 2 days now so waiting game

Im using a modded AC 110(300gph) with a lot of chaeto and stone and some sand and i have a Biowheel 200 which has a 200gph with just the filter pads and was wondering if i should remove the biowheel and add a jet like a 300 gph Korlia or something? any advise would be grand

Nice purchases. :)

That's a sea squirt. Completely harmless.

Okay cool stuff do they get any bigger?

Posted

After mine get the size of a dime I don't really notice any growth. There's probably different species and different sizes but IME around a half inch is all I've seen.

What is this? not sure if its aiptasia has a green look now brown

This one is small

Can't tell for sure but I'd say it's aiptasia. If it's not it's probably the other one that I can never spell right and am too lazy to look up.

Kill it!

Majano is the one I was thinking. I guess I'm not as lazy as previously thought
