endy0430
Anybody running this light on their 29 BC. What can you tell me about it. Do you like it or is it just better to go with the SOL? Link to comment
rbaby
Anybody running this light on their 29 BC. What can you tell me about it. Do you like it or is it just better to go with the SOL? I have the Nano on an 8.5g. Go for the Sol IMO for the 29. Link to comment
iDream
Im pretty sure you could cover a BC29 fairly well with a nano if people with Solanas are doing it Link to comment
pschom
I have the SOL module and it's great! What's the price difference? Link to comment

pschom
$100 IIRC Well if it's only $100 difference get the SOL. You won't be disappointed. But then there is the mounting issue. That's another $100. Link to comment
endy0430
What are the mounting options for the SOL? Can it be hung from the roof using the Hanging Kit or do you need the Hanging Kit and the Mounting Rails to do this....I think a DIY is a better option if that's the case. Link to comment
sammer
I have the nano on my 14 biocube and get complete coverage at only 3-4 " above water could maybe get it even closer so it should cover your 29. The mount that comes with it doesn't work well with a biocube so I just made my own, but the older sols are pretty cheap now so maybe just get one of those. Link to comment

iDream
Search for SouthFlorida_Tron's 14G biocube, he has a pretty slick DIY Sol mount Link to comment
sammer
can i see your diy mount =) Here are some images of my diy nano mount. I decided to make an arm mount so that I could swing the light to the side when I needed to work in the tank or the filter area. I also used a wooden mounting plate so that I could adjust the height of the mount on the fly by adjusting the toggle bolts . The whole thing was made from pvc fittings and two metal pipe mounts. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. I am currently still working on a cover for the back of the tank and plan on getting my temporary plexi tank cover (for cat protection) remade out of glass. I will be starting a tank tread once this is all finished. Link to comment
iDream
^^^ Very smart, I like that a lot. Its super functional, and super sleek to go with the AI Nano's look Link to comment
kidninja
argg dam cant destroy my home to mount a light... lol Link to comment
JDK
Just read on marin-engineers.com that they have been testing the AI nano and seem to believe it will cover a 24" spread without any issues. The problem with the SOL is you might as well wait for the Phoenix to come out bc its only 100$ more and seems to make the SOL obsolete IMO. Link to comment
