surfingelite
A few weeks ago I pick-up an uncured piece of lr that had 8 very tiny shrooms on them in a close area to each other. Now that they have gotten larger( about a dime and nickel sizes), they are competing light space and so i guess some need to be moved to a different rock. But my question is, how do i remove them without killing them and how do i get them to attach to the places that I want? Link to comment
Looselyhuman
They'll move themselves if they are unhappy. Link to comment
Tempest
If you want to move them just cut them at the base and place them where you want them (needs to be low current so they can attach). You could cut a mushroom into quarters (1/4) and scatter them around the tank and they'd probably do just fine. They're the easiest coral to propagate. However, I agree with Hypsophyrs in that if they (the mushrooms) aren't happy they will detach on their own. Link to comment
AReeferIsExpensive
let nature take its course...i have shrooms that live under shrooms and do fine. BTW- cutting shrooms is very MESSY. they slime everywhere~ Link to comment
Hwarang
If you want to move them just cut them at the base Dude, no! Gently use the padded tip of your finger to peel the shroom off the rock. Don't stress it further by wounding it pointlessly. Link to comment
Locarius
Dude they are impossible to kill. I had one growing in a spot I didnt want it, I had to scrape the spot with a razorblade like 5 times after it grew back each time. Link to comment
SLOreefer
there is really no killing mushrooms, go ahead and cut it, scrape it, whatever. any tissure left on the rock will create another mushroom, dont worry about them competing for light, they will grow longer bases to deal with it.
