Yasha Haze + Tailspot Blenny=Pax Oceana (Now w/pics)

Would these two get along in a 20g? Or would their similar body shape/niche be too likely to cause conflict? My Yasha and his shrimp are quite happy and I'd hate to have anyone get hurt, but I'd like a more adventurous fish, and I've always enjoyed blennies in the past.

Thanks for your advice.

They should get along fine.

Thanks, I hope so too. I was considering a possum wrasse, but even in a smaller tank, I would imagine they'd be difficult to see/enjoy.

I had mine in 10g and I saw it all the time. Great little fish! I also had a tailspot with it and they got along great.

There was minor aggression, but they each have their own hole now. Was interesting to hear the randalli pistol defend his house, and see the Blenny GFTO. I guess castle doctrine applies to sand burrows!

For anyone who's interested, the Blenny darkened himself up a fair amount, likely stress-related given his recent shooting. He was hopping around a bit and eating last night though, and found his own hidey-hole. Everyone was getting along fine @ dinnertime, and both the Yasha Haze and the Blenny were eating frozen Ocean Nutrition F2 together amiably. The Pistol even came out and joined the frenzy, though wouldn't move out of antenna range of the rocks, I guess unsurprisingly.

Glad everything worked out! Love tailspots and yasha gobies...nice pics

Thank you, as a final update, they both are doing very well, and the blenny now looks fully colored. They both hang out in the current after feeding when I turn the koralia and filter back on, and nab whatever they missed as it gets kicked up and circulated. The blenny takes the top of the rock, and the goby takes the sand. The tailspot is eating a bit of cyclopeeze, but I'm going out of my way to stuff the goby first with meaty foods and then getting formula 2 and spirulina to the blenny. I'm using a syringe+airline to feed them, and they're both now so comfortable with it they will eat straight from the tube.
