endolith
So I go to a local store to get RO water (not DI), the major downside is the 0.25ppm of phosphates present. My tank is currently cycling and I plan to offset this phosphate with cheato in my fuge and phosphate remover. My question is, should I add the phosphate remover during the cycle (Im soft cycling tb saltwater rock, water changing to keep ammonia below 1ppm) or just keep my water changes up and keep the in tank phosphate around 0.25-0.5 Thanks Link to comment
wombat
I think you should find a different place to get your RO water. Link to comment
HecticDialectics
Massive amount of phosphate, imo... is it from the RO water? The way your post sounds I can't tell if its the RO water or if you had your tank water tested. Link to comment

I've since found a cheaper (see free) alternative and I am now getting distilled water from my lab . Link to comment
HecticDialectics
Right on. Yeah, I'd go ahead and run some phosphate remover Link to comment
FlCandy
+1 Better to do it now while your cycling vs like me doing it for the week after the cycle. Good luck! Link to comment
