wolfador
I think I saw one of these guys last night, I flicked on the moon lights and it came to the glass and then went around behind the rock. I switched off the lights and came back about 30mins later and I saw the black eyes looking out from the rock at me. Felt like he was looking into my soul Tried to grab a picture but it went into the rock and did not come back out. Pretty sure it looked just like this but it was more white http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/attachme...mp;d=1124997603 Anything else it could be? Do I remove the rock he was hiding in or should I try to net it? Let it starve for a few weeks? Link to comment
johnmaloney
There are a lot of isopods out there, most are harmless. Knowing what species will matter, but is yours as big as that guy? Parasitic isopods tend to be larger than their harmless cousins. Link to comment
drunkenmonk21
Did he look like this guy here Isopod This guy is almost an inch long I got this guy in my tank, trying to figure out a way to get him out, although he just swims past my fish. I dont know Link to comment
wolfador
The one I saw was prolly about a half inch long about the size of a pinky nail. I pulled the rock I saw him in since it didn't have any other life on it and gave it a FW dip and a hot high salinity dip trying to kill it. Those eye's are very creepy.... Link to comment
Alexraptor
Not that I'm an expert, but Its very possible that one(OP) is harmless. I used to have lots of those running around in the middle of night and i never saw them attack or feed on anything, mostly they were just scavenging among the detritus. Link to comment

I hope so, just saw him again and tried to net him but he is fast, Had him pinned in a corner but as soon as the net moved he was gone in a flash. I am still going to try and catch him just in case Link to comment
drunkenmonk21
Yea these things are super fast swimmers. Mine is proven to be very hard to catch. Once he disappears I dont know which rock he goes into. Link to comment

Had the moon lights on and saw him down by the sand bed at the side of the tank, shined a flashlight on him which I think stunned him and was able to scoop him out with a net. Link to comment

ThePhilosopher
Kill it with fire. Unless it's a harmless one, that is. If not, hug it a lot. Link to comment
