Wizzy
I have 3 Acan Frags. They are small, about 3/4 of an inch in length, and have been dying ever since I received them. There are probably about 20-30 other frags of LPS and Soft coral in the tank and they are doing fine. So, I assume it isn't my water parameters. I have already dipped them in Coral RX and scraped off all the algae I could so they are relatively clean. Is there anything else that I can do for them or is it too late to save them? Tank- Nanocube 12 DX- Stock Everything (Removed Bioballs) 48 Watts of Light Pictures- 2 of the frags look like this. However, the other one has a little more color. ↓↓↓ This is the one that I think has the best chance of survival. It still has it's heads and color. ↓↓↓ Thank You- Wizzy Link to comment

Cheops
Ok, there are probably people on here that are more qualified than me to respond but it looks like the first one is bleached. Where did you get these from? Are they placed near the top of the bottom of the tank? Link to comment
nova65ss
1st one looks like a goner 2nd pic is not very clear. Link to comment

They are all placed on the bottom of the tank and I purchased them from a sponsor here on Nano Reef. 1st one looks like a goner 2nd pic is not very clear. Sorry for the poor picture quality. I'll try to get a better picture up later. I think that the Acan in the second picture has the chance to be saved but I need everyone's input. If anyone has any further comments please let me know. Wizzy
Bumpinnng. Need to know what I should do with the Acan that has more flesh and a better chance of survival. Link to comment
Rocket
medium low flow. Medium light. You can feed it at night if it deploys its filter feeding tentacles. About all you can do. Be patient. Acains are "slow" corals. They don't do anything fast. Link to comment

Rocket
well medium light in your tank would be more light than your zoanthids like, but less light than the sps. Each tank is different so you have to be the judge. Link to comment

Thanks for the responses guys and as far as Mr. Coral is concerned I would like to say that he has refunded me $10 to Paypal and is supposed to refund another $40 as store credit. So, at least it seems like he tries to make things right. To save the Acans I will- Spot feed them Daily and keep a close eye on them. Keep your fingers crossed for me! Thank You and if anyone has any more info let me know- Wizzy Link to comment
Dazed1
He always gets people by giving a store credit. That means you need to have another 130$ total to get free shipping to make it worth while. Link to comment

Smity
Sorry to hate on Mr Coral too... but i had the same issue when I placed my order 5 months ago. He has some awesome prices but the corals I dont think survived the travel. I had an order of maybe 8-9 acans and most died for no apparent reason. Only have 2 left but those are doing strong. Philip271
wow. good thing I read this. I was considering ordering some from Mr Coral due to the price. but now I won't chance it. I have a few acans and thought they are pretty hardy. I've even accidentally ripped one head/mouth in half.. glued them back together and it grew back like nothing happened. Also had a chalice fall on them over night where they engaged in chemical warfare. Thought the acan was fried but days later, it looked just fine. Anyway, I'm for sure going to stay away from Mr Coral. Link to comment
javisaman
The first one is dead for sure. If it had algae growth that means there is no tissue, algae doesn't grow on coral tissue only coral skeleton. For the second one, low light and low flow. You shouldn't need to feed, but you can and only when the tentacles are out. Link to comment
