Minimal Light requirement for frag tank

I am not wanting to BUT going to have to change my QT into a Frag tank. I have 2 colt corals fragging themselves at a crazy pi$$ing me off rate. 16 frags and counting!!!!! I chase the frags around the DT and move them to the QT tank allow them to attach to half shells and then transfer them back to the DT. I have to do this because the QT does not have good enough lighting. It has enough for them to attach and that's about it ~2-3 days. QT tank is 10g with full cover hood and bare necessities. Lighting on this tank currently are LED's but not "quality" coral growth type LEDs due to the fact the frags will not fully extend when in this tank.

DT Mini Forrest .......Yes there are 16 frags there!!!!

pretty cool how they keep fraggin imo but buy an odyssea cheap t5 fixture

To a point  chasing/moving/transferring is becoming a PITA. OTH the LFS will give me credit for them when they grow out :) TY for the light suggestion

This. I have this on my 10G frag/QT and my corals are growing great. I sent Evil a PM and this is what he suggested to me for my price point and needs.

Looks good and Thank you for the link too. LOL the lighting in the frag tank will be better than the stock lighting in the DT!!

If you're doing just low-lights and LPS even the 2 bulb version of the fishneedit will do you just fine, swap the bulbs out for some high end ones like ATI and you could even keep some of the lower light SPS
