jgpico
Since ecotech has released the info on the new radion led fixture it looks like some people are pretty nervous about what the light will be able to do. I read blogs quite a bit since I write for one myself and one article stood out to me above all the rest. Go ahead and read the article and let me know what you guys think. Is really like to get the opinions of some of the led experts here as well. http://blog.captive-aquatics.com/captive_a...and-a-miss.html Link to comment

jgpico
It really makes me change my mind on who i will decide to do business with when something like this comes along. Link to comment
bensanders
A thought on his bashing of LEDs overall and dimming them in particular: Why have I and countless others seen such great coral growth under LEDs, most of which have been dimmed to some extent? Surely he is aware of people's success so far... The storms and cloud cover are pointless and a waste, but I'm skeptical of his claims that dimming the LEDs render them ineffective. Link to comment
jgpico
I agree about the storms and stuff like that, that is just for our fun and entertainment but the fact that he is just bashing not just the new radion but all cree based led fixtures is just not needed. We havent even gotten a chance to see the fixture itself or what it can do and he is already bashing it. what i dont get is how tons of us are seeing awesome results from cree based fixtures and he is basically saying they are crap. malawian
yea i cant say too much for the blatant issues in this article...maybe hes a fan of ecotech and was just let down by what he saw? doubt that but hey... personally I think LEDs can be problematic (only now getting good coloration on some corals and only with great difficulty) and yes I run crees. on the other hand ive seen some pretty amazing growth on my corals as well. one thing i cant see the point of is the RBG feature...you dont need all the colors of the rainbow in a light fixture IMO...but that may just be me. jgpico
I can assure you ecotech did nothing wrong in his eyes other than releasing a light that is going to give the company he works for a run for his money. In all honesty I think he is scared or jealous that this light is going to kick ass so he is bashing his competition. Link to comment
