Neon Pseudochromis Compatibilty

I have a neon pseudo (great fish) and I wanted to know if it would get along with a 6-line wrasse in a 20 gallon?

The 20 gallon is just recently cycled so I was going to add the fish together, this way no territory disputes.

Or would a damsel or goby be better?

Eee...questionable. Neon dottybacks are known to be really aggressive fish, and there's some evidence to say they especially dislike wrasses because wrasses are known to eat fish eggs. I think a problem's likely but then again, I don't have one and haven't kept one with tankmates. So if you do decide to get that wrasse or any other fish, be ready to isolate in case there is a problem. Maybe someone else who's owned a neon can answer this better.

I've got a purple pseudochromis with a 6 line in my 29G. Once they got used to each other (there was some aggression at first staking out territory and dominance) everything was cool. The pseudochromis has killed the 5 shrimp I've had in the tank (a peppermint and cleaner orignally and then 3 peppermints I added afterwards) but otherwise everything is good.

I'd try it but watch for aggression. Being that you're adding them to a new tank to both they should get along fine. Make sure to have a lot of caves etc. for them to hide in as they both like to do that.

I just traded my neon pseudo in at the LFS over the weekend. He was a great fish and very beautiful. UNfortunately he was a complete b@st@rd to my cleanup crew. He killed one pep shrimp and a few of my hermets. I would try one in a larger tank but for my 10g he was too much. I now have a tiny gold stripe maroon clown.

thats an idea dafrimpster, once my 46 is up and running, ill move the clown out of the nano into the 46 and stuff that pseudo into the nano for my buddy, thatll teach him!

the only two crabs in our nano are over an inch and fight off nearly everything, the anemonie could eat it if it tries proding at it, and the star would be just fine!
