Intro

I'm new to the saltwater hobby. But I've have 2 years experience with freshwater (arowanas, flowerhorns, etc). I had to sell off all my freshwater stuff when i graduated from college. But now that i've started working, i have money to start a saltwater tank :D Hopefully i can keep everyone updated with my progress as well as get advice from you veterans.

***If you see that im doing anything stupid or have suggestions, please tell me!***

Im completely new to this so im doing lots of research. But im sure ill still be making tons of mistakes.

Goal

A bad-ass tank. I want to have lots of corals and not be limited by my equipment (other than size).

Plans

Due to limited space i've decided to start with a Nano Cube DX 12g. I've bought it used (zero mods) + a stand. So far i have nothing setup yet.

Okay so i have 3 chambers in the back...

Chamber 1: Media Basket (a little pricey for what it is)

Media Basket layer 1: Filter Floss

layer 2: Purigen

layer 3: Chemi-Pure Elite

Chamber 2: ??? not sure yet. Either a Fuge or a protein skimmer (AuqaEuroUSA Nano Protien Skimmer 2)

Chamber 3: Hydor THEO 50 watt, Upgraded Maxi-Jet 900 Pump

(thinking about a refuge but dont want another light)

-Upgraded the pump return attachment to: Hydor FLO Rotating Water Deflector Attachment

-In-tank: Hydor Nano 425 Aquarium Circulation Pump, 425 gph.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lights: Nanotuners 4.6 LED CREE lights
+ Reefkeeper lite (not really sure what modules or version to get yet)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Fish:

Ocellaris Clownfish + Sea anemone

goby + pistol shrimp

Usual cleanup crew

Questions:

1) Let me know if any of my plans sound incorrect

2) Should i go with the fuge or the skimmer and why?

3) Hows the AuqaEuroUSA Nano skimmer with my tank? I read that i have to remove the return elbo and suction cups in order fit it into the back middle chamber.

4) Suggestions on what type of Reefkeeper lite i would need based on my setup. I want to be able to create a sun-rise/sun-set affect. Plus being able to control my heater, fans, etc would be nice.

5) Hows the flow looking in my tank, should i get more flow?

6) More suggestions? =]

Thanks for reading. Ill post more pics once the pieces start to arrive.

2: I would use a fuge. A skimmer on a 12g isn't necessarily important.

3:Can't answer

4:go to Rapid LED.com. I'd use a 1-3 single heatsinks 1-3 Berquist Thermal Pad 1-3 CREE XP-G R5 Cool White 3W LED on Star

5: I have 400GPH on my 6 gallon JBJ nano cube for a comparison ...

Too late i already ordered the nanotuners... so expensive @_@ but whatever at least its all setup for me.

Ya a skimmer on a 12g wouldn't help too much. But would a tiny fuge in the back of my tank make much of a difference?
