I haven't done the whole tank, but I have cut sections out of a 20L before.

Didn't seem to do much to the structural integrity the little bit that I did.

Cool thing about goofing this up is you're not out bunches of money for a new tank...

I saw some trimless tank when I was travelling at asian countries. So, my quess is why not try?

But difference is... they have very smoothly siliconed all the way up to the top of the glass. I wonder how you deal with those ugly silicon pieces when you take off that insubordinate (funny word) black trim arround the top. :)

if it is the black frame, that goes on the top and bottom of the glass....- that is very important to the structural support of the tank.. be carefull removing it...

I wouldn't try a 20 long. Maybe <10 gallons, but not a 20 long.

You could always get some thin peices of glass cut and "Euro-brace" it. That would probly consist of de-siliconing the tank, and then re-siliconing it.
