Ok, i'm a little confused. I keep reading that folks are putting maxi1200's in their NC28's but when I talked to the guy at a LFS he said the "new" maxi 1200 has a "propeller" and that 1200 would be crazy in a NC28, he was thinking more along the lines of a 600 for the NC28.

Can someone clarify this?

i cant see that being a prob, i run and mj 606 in my 6 gallon thats about 150 gph, so like 25x turnover. a maxi 1200 is like 295? so that like 11x turnover, seems a little low?

The new maxijet 1200 has an optional propeller you can put on it. You don't have to. I think it would be fine for return pump, or powerhead either way they are really useful. I use a maxijet 1800 for the return in my 39 gal.

Ok, I think I get it, they don't function as a return and a powerhead, you get one or the other. If you use the 1200 as a propeller powerhead you get like much more flow than if you use it as a typical return. In my case, i'm looking to replace the stock return pumps in my NC28 so the 1200 is still the right choice. Thanks guys.
