I keep reading that folks are putting maxi1200's in their NC28's but when I talked to the guy at a LFS he said the "new" maxi 1200 has a "propeller" and that 1200 would be crazy in a NC28, he was thinking more along the lines of a 600 for the NC28. nanotrevor Posted August 20, 2011 Share Posted August 20, 2011 i cant see that being a prob, i run and mj 606 in my 6 gallon thats about 150 gph, so like 25x turnover. a maxi 1200 is like 295? so that like 11x turnover, seems a little low? Link to comment
Trick Posted August 20, 2011 Share Posted August 20, 2011 The new maxijet 1200 has an optional propeller you can put on it. You don't have to. I think it would be fine for return pump, or powerhead either way they are really useful. I use a maxijet 1800 for the return in my 39 gal. Link to comment

If you use the 1200 as a propeller powerhead you get like much more flow than if you use it as a typical return. In my case, i'm looking to replace the stock return pumps in my NC28 so the 1200 is still the right choice. Thanks guys. Link to comment
