pschom
About a month or so ago I picked up a pretty large (for the size tank) Galaxea. I got the large piece cause I love Galaxea. Anyway, since I placed it in the tank it started to loose heads. At first I thought thus was due to my handling of the piece; trying to get it in the right location. Tonight I looked at it and there are more heads that dont have any polyps, and about half of the skeleton of the entire piece looks whiter than the other half. I noticed that recently the sweeper tentacles had disappeared. They were pretty long before. If you want a pic I can provide. This SUX. Please help. Also, some of the heads have fallen off. But...they didn't die. I picked one up from the sand bed and stuck it in a little hole and it's still alive. Can't tell if it's growing. Link to comment

Trick
How do the heads just fall off? they are part of the skeleton of the coral. Also, i don't think they tolerate high phosphates. Link to comment
Alkamist
if the heads are coming out its having polyp bail out but i'm not sure what causes this too happen, i know they die easily from being handled to much but they are pretty hardy corals. What kind of lights is it under and how close is it to them? Link to comment

I'll post a pic. Literally a few just came off of the colony. I think it may be from handling, but it seems like it's not stopping. Be glad ,That coral is a neusance! Whatever man they're sweet.
