BC29 Lighting Upgrades - What's Available?

Hi all,

 

I've been off the forum for a while, and am diving back into things. I'm currently running the stock PCs (yuck) on my BC29. A while back, I built this beefy LED hood and it was sick, but I never loved the 'washed out' colors that the Cool Blues and Neutral Whites gave.

 

What's available these days? I need to brighten up my tank and I have a spare, empty, hood sitting here.

nanotuners used to have several options for hood upgrades. their site is undergoing changes right now.

 

are you committed to using the hood? you could remove it and open up you lighting choices significantly.

Actually, I would consider Topless if I could get a glass lid made. I know a glass shop in town, does anyone have a template?

I have a template of an acrylic top I am making. I am not sure you can open the template for the bottom part on your computer though. Its through a crappy program set up on the computer that runs the laser cutter. I can send you the template for the bottom if you want. Here is a link for what I am talking about. If you want the actually size, pm me. I have it in 2 pieces. I am going to join the two with acrylic hinges so I do not have to take the whole thing off. You could always remove the squares if you want.
