jrbrashear Posted March 14, 2011 Share Posted March 14, 2011 I just set up my cadlights 50g and I have 50lbs. of base rock from reefcleaners. My question is do i have to seed the base rock with some live rock or will it eventually become "live"? Link to comment
seabass Posted March 14, 2011 Share Posted March 14, 2011 It will become live with bacteria, but not other life. However, some life will be imported with coral or other additions to your tank. While seeding is not needed, it would help with biodiversity. Without a piece of live rock, you will need to build up your tank's bioload more slowly. Link to comment
