Christopher Marks
peytonk, I shoot with a Fujifilm X100 pretty much exclusively now. My earlier work was with a Canon 60D with a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 lens. Link to comment

Seano Hermano
Great photos, Mr. Chris. Thanks for sharing. I really like photography. I have a NikonP90. Looking into something like a D5100 or maybe a D7000. I need to move out of these farm fields and to a bigger city with some good subjects. Link to comment
halfpint
I like re oops one. The department store one (last one) is one of my favorites so far. Link to comment
Christopher Marks
Thanks! It was nice having a new city to explore, sometimes I feel like I've run out of places in Phoenix, even though I know that's not true. I didn't have any cloudy weather, so I decided to try shooting just before sunset with some decent results. It works well, but there's only a short window of time to shoot. Fortunately the X100 is incredible at higher ISO's so I could push the useable light further. Link to comment

Christopher Marks
I might come visit in a few months so I can remember what cold cloudy weather is. I imagine I'll be completely overwhelmed with scenes to photograph, it'll be awesome. Link to comment

mmcguffi
Is this a photography forum? Yes, in fact it is. Notice how it says "Photography Discussion" at the bottom. Nice Photos? Yep, you nailed it. Really awesome photos CM. Your consistency is alarming! lol or maybe I should say inspiring Do you view these photos as a part of a huge series, or would you say that youve figured out your style and youre stickin' to it? (if that makes sense) Link to comment
Christopher Marks
They're part of a series intended for a future art show, though the concept has been evolving. I'm focusing more on compositions with a foreground to give a better sense of the place. Most of these are from Phoenix, but I think I may expand the show to cover many cities in Arizona. I learned a lot from my first series Rail Yard, and subsequent art shows, and I intend to take a slightly different approach with the new series by offering different sizes and types of prints to widen my audience. At the moment I don't have a target end date or show lined up, I feel like the series continues to improve as I move forward with the concept. In the meantime I've been working on deals for some permanent custom installations for two local restaurants, from the Rail Yard series. I've come to realize that while I shoot these 'scenes' and textures with the intention of creating fine art, street photography has become a fun curiosity for me. I don't have a 'purpose' for the photographs, so they're just fun to capture and share. Last week I went to the Arizona State Fair and got some interesting results. mmcguffi
Wow that Rail Yard series is awesome. I can definitely see how your new series has evolved from that. Personally Im a huge fan of colors and textures in photography so your Rail Yard series is really alluring to me. If I wasnt such a poor student I would definitely buy a print for my room In those new pics you posted Arizona State fair (in particular) and Top Spin are great. They share a similar flavor with your other work but are still entirely different Keep posting! You make me really want to go and take some pictures again--though unfortunately Michigan tends to be extremely overcast this time of year Link to comment
mmcguffi
OH and theyre printed on aluminum?? AWESOME Link to comment
Christopher Marks
Yeah, they're printed directly on anodized aluminum, very large prints, 54"x38". They're fun to show, but they're also difficult to transport. I'd love to get some shows lined up outside of Phoenix one of these days.
